Ashley
Betsy arrived at Fort Payne First with a heart for service and ministry. Her prior occupations included nursing/health professional, and most recently, Executive Director of United Givers Fund of DeKalb County (a local, non-profit organization), before answering God’s calling to serve the church and its membership. She can also be heard singing in the FPFUMC Chancel Choir during the traditional service on Sunday mornings.

Bennie Carol
Bennie Carol has spent much of her life involved in church music in the Methodist tradition as she lives out her passion to serve the Lord through her music. She’s directed children, youth, adult, senior adult and hand bell choirs. Her other interests include design, writing/teaching adult studies, and sharing life with her children/grandchildren. She’s been married to her high school sweetheart for almost 60 years.
Curtis’s introduction to Fort Payne First
came when he joined the Praise Team as a bass player. The open and welcoming faith community at Fort Payne First reminded him of the small church that he had grown up in. Now, as Praise Team Leader, Curtis seeks to shine the light of Jesus Christ throughout this church and out into our community, so that others like him will know that they are loved, welcome, and never alone. Curtis is incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to grow as a Christian in fellowship with such an amazingly dedicated Praise Team.

Steve
A member of Fort Payne First United Methodist Church since 1967, Steve now joins the staff as Director of Servant Ministries, which includes our community out-reach programs Serving our Savior (SOS) and the Bread of Life ministry. Steve received a bachelor’s degree in business with a minor in financial planning from The University of Alabama, and a fifth-year program education degree from Athens State University. After 15 years teaching Business Tech. and Applications and Introduction to Engineering Design at Fort Payne high school, Steve is honored to serve the church and those who need a helping hand in our community. The church outreach programs can never be successful without the support of our church and volunteers. Matthew 25:40 says: I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me (Jesus).
